Whiskey Off Road | April 28 – April 30, 2023

2023 Whiskey Off-Road Event Guide

Starting on Prescott’s historical (and lively) Whiskey Row, riders connect some of the area’s most exhilarating (and challenging) pieces of volunteer-built and maintained singletrack, double track, gravel roads, and the occasional paved segment.

In addition to catering to amateur-level mountain bikers, the 2023 event offers a $32,000 pro purse – the biggest one-day purse in mountain biking today!

A Successful Shot of Whiskey – A Welcome Letter

Nineteen years ago our small yet merry band of mountain bikers occupied two parking spots on the north end of Whiskey Row. Today the Whiskey Off-Road footprint has grown substantially, driving an estimated $3M into the local economy while respectfully enjoying downtown Prescott and the Prescott National Forest.

This year promises to be the biggest and best Whiskey Off-Road yet. For the first time the Whiskey 30 and 50 Proof events will be almost entirely on different courses to greatly reduce trail traffic. And thanks to the Arizona Office of Tourism’s assistance, we’re excited to welcome Greensky Bluegrass as our headlining musical act, selling out Red Rocks Amphitheatre three nights in a row, and according to Rolling Stone, holding status as “representing the genre for a whole new generation”.  Needless to say, we’re fired up!

We’re also excited to welcome Klean Kanteen, doing away with the old glass finisher’s pints, upgrading to a Metal Finisher Pint Cup, filled to the top with a Mother Road Brewing Co. beer, Northern Arizona’s finest craft brewer and Whiskey Off-Road Official Beer Sponsor for the next three years.

What hasn’t changed is the generous cash purse of $32,000 split evenly between the Pro Men and Women, a tradition upheld since 2011 without any social media performance strings attached and no series attendance required. Just show up, throw down and get paid, Whiskey-style. And while the Pros duke it out, the Shimano Kids’ Ride will happen with families riding legit creekside singletrack right from downtown. And as always, the expo will be bustling with free Stan’s NoTubes sealant refreshes, fine tuning from Shimano Multi-Service, fine fueling and hydration from Hammer Nutrition and tire pressure top ups at Maxxis Service Course.

Here’s to wishing everyone another successful shot of Whiskey, brimming with smiles.

See ya trailside,

Todd Sadow
